The best Mexican food I have had outside of Mexico. It is a small downtown spot perfect for lunch. Great downtown atmosphere with outside seating available. The food was perfect. The salsa is wonderful flavor and just hot enough to make you stop and rest every 3 or 4 chips. If you are in Downtown San Diego you must stop in.

I like the rolled tacos here! I've had numerous types and all are great. Burritos are well done too. My Carne Asada burrito was yummy! Salad bar has 6 salsa / sauces..all tasty. Pickled carrots/ onions / jalepenos/ garlic is delicious too! Chips made in house and deep fried battered jalapenos were a nice touch! Service was good both times I went. Washroom is way in the back thru the kitchen.

Hot cheeto burrito exceeded expectations. Heavy, but not too heavy. Surprisingly flavorful and complex. Not a gimmick. Warm w perfectly toasted wrap. Big. Free chips. Nice people. Get on in here!

AMAZING birria and fish tacos. My husband really enjoyed his enchiladas too. Unassuming, authentic food at a family-run place - order at the counter, cash only.

Just started working the area. If you’re looking for Mexican food do not go to Taco Stand. GO HERE. It’s fuego, fresh, loads of food, and great customer service. Safe to say I found my lunch spot!

The Cali Burrito was great! Extremely great tasting and hot; not as high as I'd like but wouldn't call it small. Crispy fries and the sauces they had were excellent. Carne Asada Fries were alright, not as good as some other places but nothing was wrong with them. Restaurant was great as well; if you order in they actually bring the order to you and they accept all the major credit cards (I paid using AMEX).

This place is a must stop if your looking for authentic tasting Mexican food. I ordered the machaca plate and everything from the flavor to to the tenderness of the meat was perfect. I also like that it was walking distance from our hotel and that you have the option of indoor or outdoor seating that is shaded.
